BOSTON, April 4, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of Global Action announces today the recent addition of Robert Hernreich to the organization's board of directors. Robert Hernreich, a resident of Edwards, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada officially took his place on the board in late 2007.
"Robert Hernreich's expertise in the business sector as well as his extensive experience on nonprofit boards has been instrumental in providing vision, problem solving and overall assurance of good governance," says Michelle Lyden, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Global Action.
"Robert Hernreich is also extremely philanthropic and has committed a considerable amount of money to help launch our malnutrition programs in Africa and Asia," added Lyden. "Robert Hernreich has a generous spirit and truly wants to make the world a better place to live."
Those initiatives began in April 2008 and introduced Global Action's programs into 20 Tanzanian orphanages. Global Action's Tanzanian partner in the initiative, Orphans Relief Services, received considerable funds and endorsements from President Bush and is ranked high on the list to receive funds from the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). |

Mr. Robert Hernreich, (born 1945), is an owner of the National Basketball Association team the Sacramento Kings. He also owns the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League. Bob. Hernreich has been President of Remonov Capital, Inc. since August 1992, and Vice-President of Remonov & Company, Inc., since November 1996. Both are private investment firms. From November 1989 through June 1996, Robert. Hernreich was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sigma Broadcasting Company, formerly Arkansas’ largest television and radio operator, and from January 1988 through September 1990, Mr. Hernreich was Chairman of U.S. Repeating Arms, maker of Winchester sporting firearms. Robert Hernreich is a member of the board of directors of The Vail Valley Foundation and The Snowboard Outreach Society, and a member of the board of trustees of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Bob Hernreich is also a former member of the board of directors of Ride, Inc., which K2 acquired in October 1999. |
